Will tell you more about that a little later. Our 2005 REUNION is as follows:

Dick Shafer is the Reunion Chairman, and the coming reunion will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada. and he submitted the following letter and information.

LAS VEGAS 2005 - LAS VEGAS 2005 - LAS VEGAS 2005

The USS CONYNGHAM Association's 2005 Reunion will be held in Las Vegas,
Nevada on 5-9 June at the newly refurbished SAHARA Hotel and Casino.  It would
be great if each and every member of our Association and his wife/girlfriend
could attend this next reunion.  Unfortunately, there are some that can’t be
there for health and personal reasons that can’t be overcome.  For the rest of
us, early planning can make our attendance a reality.  Those of us that have
made it to one of the past reunions know what great fun it is.  Those of you
that haven't made it to one of the reunions should come and see what you have
been missing.  I guarantee you won't be disappointed.  Now is the time to start
beating the bushes to insure all of our buddies know about the reunion and can
start making definite plans to be a part of the festivities.

Las Vegas is a wonderful venue for the reunion.  It has everything --
great shows, excellent food, tours to exciting places and even an opportunity to
do a little gambling if you are so inclined.  Dick Shafer is the Reunion
Chairman for this one.  After many letters, Emails, and phone calls, he and Jo (his
girlfriend/wife for now 55/52 years) spent three days in Las Vegas (no cost
to the Association) visiting and evaluating the seven finalists.  The SAHARA
was the final choice.  We have a great deal on prices and accommodations. The
SAHARA hotel and casino has just been refurbished (most recently, the deluxe
rooms in the Tangier Towers where we will be housed) and we have the penthouse s
uite for the Hospitality Suite.

It is fitting that we return to Las Vegas and the SAHARA in this, the
tenth reunion since Jack Dawson and his DD 371 shipmates invited the DDG 17
shipmates to join them in Las Vegas to form the great combined CONYNINGHAM
Association that we know today.

The Registration Fee will be $75 per person which pays for the Admin
costs, the Reunion Booklet, the Hospitality Suite refreshments, the Welcome
Reception, the Banquet and the Farewell Breakfast.   Further information and updates
will be published in the PRIVATEER.  Mark the dates down in that new calendar
you just received.  Start saving and planning now.  Get your hotel
reservations early.  Reduced rates are available before and after the reunion should you
wish to extend your stay.    The registration form will be in the next issue
of PRIVATEER.
                           SEE YOU IN LAS VEGAS!
